309/309S Stainless Steel Coil or Sheet

Product Description 309/309S stainless steel coil/sheet is a chromium-nickel heat-resisting austenitic grade specifically engineered for service up to 1 900 °F (1 038 °C) under continuous, non-cyclic conditions. The alloy contains 22–24 % Cr and 12–15 % Ni, giving it outstanding oxidation and sulfidation resistance that exceeds that of 304, 321 or even 316 steels. 309S (UNS S30908) is the low-carbon (≤0.08 %) variant that minimises carbide precipitation during welding or thermal cycling, while 309H (UNS S30909) carries a controlled 0.04–0.10 % C for enhanced creep strength.
